Peanut-Butter-Banana-Smoothie_thumb

Hey guys! For todays recipe, I wanted to share something awesome and revolutionary… a HEALTHY peanut butter and banana smoothie.  This recipe is perfect for someone on-the-go like me because in just a few minutes you can have a balanced breakfast with 2 servings of fruit, calcium, potassium, fiber, and 12 grams of protein.  I have to admit, sadly, this isn’t my own creation.  I got this recipe from this amazing blog called Chocolate Covered Katie, a healthy dessert blog that you all should check out (http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com).  This recipe is seriously delicious and I hope you all like it! xoxo,

Babette

Makes 1 serving

  • 1 large over-ripe frozen banana
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter, pb2, or allergy-friendly alternative
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • pinch salt
  • 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 tbsp rolled oats or quick oats
  • sweetener of choice, to taste
  • scoop protein powder, optional

Blend the oats until a fine powder forms, then add all remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Drink immediately, or store in a covered container in the refrigerator if you’d prefer to make the smoothie the night before.
